Like many other Web sites, savings.rip makes use of log files. IP addresses and other such information are not linked to any information that is personally identifiable.

Google, as a third-party vendor, uses the DART cookie to serve ads to users based on their visit to savings.rip and other websites on the Internet. savings.rip is primarily a client-side tool. Any information you enter into the free calculator on our homepage is processed entirely within your browser and is never transmitted to or stored on our servers. We do not retain, log, or share any financial figures, numbers, or personal data from the homepage calculator.
The only exception is the Funeral Program (our paid report). When you purchase and generate a Funeral Program, the financial inputs you provide during the intake process are transmitted to a third-party AI service for report generation. The only data we otherwise collect is anonymized usage analytics (via Google Analytics) and standard web server log data as described above. This data does not include the contents of any form fields.
When you purchase a Funeral Program report, your financial inputs — including income, expenses, savings balance, debt figures, and risk preferences — are transmitted to Anthropic (the company behind the Claude AI model) via their API for the sole purpose of generating your personalized financial report.
What is transmitted: Numerical financial data and categorical preferences only. We do not send your name, email address, IP address, or any other personally identifying information to Anthropic.
What is not transmitted: Your payment information is processed exclusively by Stripe and is never sent to Anthropic or stored on our servers.
Anthropic's data handling: Anthropic's API usage is governed by their Privacy Policy and API Terms of Service. Per their commercial API terms, data submitted through the API is not used to train their models.
Local storage option: After your report is generated, you may save it as a .ripx file to your device. This file is stored only on your computer and is never uploaded to our servers. Loading a saved .ripx file does not trigger any data transmission — the report is rendered entirely from local data.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Your continued use of savings.rip after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
